Sulking::Day 3

To the other mother.

When you left for Boston, I really missed you. I couldn't believe you just left us.

And then I started listening for every car that drove by thinking maybe you would come home soon.

But we know you miss us as much as we miss you and it is probably a whole lot easier for us than it is you.

We just want you to know we love and miss you. Hurry home.

Sulking::Day 2

OK, I'm the one sulking here.

A few days ago I wrote about the confusion of the time change and the lack of promised extra sleep.

This morning was no different and it became time to line the troops up for a little chat.

It went something like this.

"It's early, I need my beauty sleep. You doggies need to let me have my beauty sleep. 5 am is negotiable. 4 am is crossing a line that I don't think you want to cross.

Have you forgotten that I am the keeper of the kibble? Purveyor of stuffies and soft beds?

I have the power to feed or not feed you. And the wall to wall cushions... can you say hard wood floors?"

And their fearful response you ask?

Talk to the paw.

Yes, I am the alpha bitch.

Sulking::Day 1

So, the other mother had to fly back to Boston for some family things.

Boy oh boy are the these long noses out of joint here.

Change is not a good thing. The other mother fixes the kibble differently and plays ball better and gets home from work earlier.

Oi vey, it's gonna be one long week.

I'm serving notice now

When we set our clocks back on Saturday night, that did not mean that you all were to set your internal clocks for 3:30 am.

Don't look at me so innocently. I need my beauty sleep. Fall back means extra sleep, not less sleep.

And if you all don't sleep in a little later, I'll, I'll make you leave retirement and get another job!

Get it?

Gone missing

It was here, and now it seems to be gone.

Been lookin' everywhere.

Has anyone seen the week-end? Went by so fast.

Think there should be a reward to who ever finds it.

Where does the time go?

Oh my Budman. When I look out across the acre and see you standing, I am filled with such love.

You still look as good as the you did the day we brought you home, nearly seven years ago. I thought you would be a youngster forever.

and today my dashing boy, you are turning 13 years old.

Happy Birthday Buddy!

Here's to many more you beautiful hunk o' hound dog.

I am a sighthound.

I see things that make me give chase.

Flocko's week

Yes Flocko, we can now talk about your week. I think it is safe.

Tuesday night you started having seizures, again. We had gone nearly 10 months without any.

I think having six of them was going a little over board, don't you?

You had us so worried, and your 80 lb body really took a beating.

Of course, there are a few humorous moments. I thought putting you in bed with me so we could both sleep was a good idea. And when you went into a seizure it was much, much softer. But when you went into the next seizure, I didn't prepare for you to pee all over the bed.

First load of late night laundry.

I don't know what I was thinking when I didn't prepare the bed for another seizure.

How many people do you know that have 32 dog beds and two blankets in the house?

So big guy, we've adjusted your meds again. Please, no more seizures. It has taken nearly a week for you to get over them and they scare us so much.

Is it Moose or rabbit season?

Some greyhounds love their toys more than anything, even food.

Moose is one of those greyhounds.

He loves to play and run and toss his stuffies in the air.

And when he sits down and licks his lips, I know that his stuffie is in trouble, much like a cat with a mouse.

I just couldn't stand to watch anymore after the first came off.

Happy Howl-o-ween!

We'll be watching for you, please come a little closer.

Flight of the Flo

It was rabbit season in the gardens and that is always a joyous occasion.

Some days the stuffy bunnies survive. Other days, well that is a tale for another day.

Flo loves the feel of the wind in her ears and that rabbit was holding her back.

Once that rabbit was history, Flo started flying around the yard.

I hold my breath every time she runs, totally worried about both her broken hock and the hock that isn't broken.

She doesn't seem worried about and she really doesn't care that I'm worried, 'cause once she starts to fly, there is no stopping her.

Come one, show me your best side

I needed a quick model this morning to try out my lights.

Danny was happy to help, for the first click anyway.

Come on big guy, show me your best side.

That's it baby, work the camera.

Come on, you can't be exhausted yet, we're just getting started.

Oh nice! That's a wrap.

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Sorry Danny

You can say "here kitty, kitty" all you want and I don't think that damn cat is going to come any closer.

And bringing in the recruits is not going to help, either.

Party Time

Nothing like a little fall sunshine to bring on the backyard get togethers.

Woo Hoo!

Siblings, they crack me up

Sibling rivalry at it's finest. Skirve and his sisters were out playing.

I only wish I knew what this goofball was thinking.

And Slinky, what on earth is going through her mind?

And then there is Jillian, I think her ears say it all. :o)))
