Fresh grass
A few weeks ago I mentioned the tremendous need to get the lawn mowed. When we start losing greyhounds because the grass is too tall, it's time.
This week-end we finally dried up enough to mow (and for those more curious minds, we mow the acre with a John Deere riding mower. The little rotary push is all show and inspiration for exercise).
The greyhounds love freshly mowed grass. Joey was almost giddy as he walked around sniffing.
He's inhaled enough of the scent that it is taking him down, notice the tilt.
This is a common sight on mowing days. It's a good thing he's a black dog, the grass stains aren't as unsightly.
Joey, you are such a goof ball.

what great grass. we don't have the kind of grass that's good with a reel mower. i've always wanted one.
cut grass smells great. are you sure there wasn't the added bonus of squirrel carcass?
Beryl likes to do the rubbing thing on the mink blanket on my bed. She also likes to christen my newly mown lawn with a poop right in the middle:)
My dogs have been fascinated with the sporadic clumps of the new green grass. They want to eat it. Hubs cut the grass this weekend and there were green pawprints on the carpet!
Hee hee! I was going to say that it's a good thing he's not white! There is something about fresh cut grass, though! I'm glad you finally got a chance to get out there and enjoy it for a few minutes! :)
Ahhh fresh grass! Nothing else like it!!
