Manic Mondays

This is Joey and Murphy running towards the camera.

Extreme Counter Surfing

Is it a cat? Is it a goat? Nope itsa greyhound! The little whippersnapper was caught once again red-pawed taking the greyhound sport of counter surfing to the extreme.

Good grief little one. You do keep us on our toes. You are going places no other greyhound has gone before. But we lubs you!

Twisted Sistas

How do they do that?

Jori is demonstrating the "canine pretzel."

Roxy has her patented "stretch, twist and turn" or for you yoga buffs, the "reclining twist" to release the tension in her spine and tone her tummy.

And a twisted brotha, Pasha. Relaxing after a day of relaxing.

Sunny days rule, rainy days drool

Whoa! This is January in Oregon and what is all of the bright stuff all over our back yard?

"It's coming from over there. I think the sunshine I brought from Florida has finally caught up with me!" Says Cinderella.

Crystal chimes in, running from the back door "Don't let it get away. I want to play in it too."

Jori is just sure that the bright yellow toy she has found is the missing for many weeks sunshine.

Adam, the beautiful white knight is running through the neighborhood, shouting with glee for everyone to come out just to see.

Skirvee has found another toy. Oh where o' where has the sun been hiding itself and the toys?

Minnie is ready to party. Woo Hoo!

Almost a pin-up girl

Leaky Lucee the basset didn't make the calender this year, but she is certainly worthy. Her velvety ears make her a star. Of course, her ears also join her during her meals and her water breaks morphing the velvet to some UCO (unidentified crusty object).

Hey Mom! When the going gets tough...

The tough get going!

Well almost. We think it makes more sense just to bury our heads in our paws and pretend it isn't happening.

Let us demonstrate how you too can bury your head in your paws.

And the countdown continues... 22 days.

Pasha prefers the whole schnauz cover up. Nothing can get through, not even the littlest things.

Duncan puts his whole head in a lock. Protecting the brain from the drain is of utmost importance.

Picker has placed his nose in his armpit, a place most people won't dare to go.

And the forever amazing Gracie has wrapped her little paw right around the end of her nose and over her mouth reminding you not to speak of evil, it just isn't professional.

And if it gets too bad, Jori recommends putting your head between your knees and just kiss your hairy ass good-bye!

But you had better not 'cause we need you.

Mommy, mommy—this one's for you

BOHICA

Yes mommy, the "END 2008" campaign is almost coming to an end. But just in case, here I am just for you.

Bohica (short for Bend Over, Here It Comes Again) joined our family as the newest KNT hound. Her race name is KNT Bohican Smoke. She made us laugh, even when we didn't think a laugh was possible. She is our gentle reminder to be prepared and keep everything in perspective.

Roxy, the sweet one in charge is welcoming the newbie.

Mickey thought the new girl was pretty cute, but he really wasn't to sure about her.

Buddy thought the new chick was pretty darn cute, and oh so well behaved.

Danny has always had a soft spot for a pretty girl.

The year of the ear

Standie-up ears

My personal favorites are the standie-up ears. Always at attention, standie-up ears get attention.

Talley never misses a trick, her standie-up radar dishes catch everything.

Skirvee is a total nutcase and his standie-up ears confirm it. He's as fun-loving as he looks.

Pasha is a natural with his standie-up ears. He has such a distinguished look about him.

Crystal probably has the most versatile ears. Here she is sporting her alert standie-up ears, she had been watching the birds and was sure they were there for her entertainment.

Somedays

You just never know who you are going to wake up with.

Her cuteness

Once upon a time, in a field far away lived a shy little greyhound named Snaggle. The day came and it was time for her to go to greyhound school...

If you want to know the rest of her story, you will have to visit her web page

The anti-greys

If you asked Emma, she would tell you that she's not an anti-grey. Instead, she would say all of those long-nosed, skinny dogs are anti-weimies. She'd tell you they are wussies, that they can't even begin to keep up with her and that bottom line, she had the acre first.

Well yes, the anti-greys Emma the weimie and Lucee the basset were here before the first greyhound was adopted. Emma loves playing tug 0' war with the greyhounds, however, she'd rather not challenge them to a race.

Emma has more energy than all of the greyhounds put together and loves nothing more than to play catch with a tennis ball.

The year of the ear

Flying ears

Ears in action are always fun. Just like a bad ear day, you never know where they are going to go when the dawgies start running around the acre.

Minnie has ears that blow with the wind.

Mickey's ears have a combo standie-up and free fly.

And Duncan streamlines his ears for aerodynamics.

January's pin-up girl

Every year I do a calender, just because I can and with such greyt subjects, how can I go wrong?

January is Foxy Roxy. We adopted Roxy when she was nine years old. She had 75 races under her belt and upon retiring from the track, she settled in to become a mom. 15 babies later, she came home to be our baby.

She is probably one of the sweetest hounds and is just one more great example of why adopting a senior hound is always a good thing.

The year of the ear

Perky ears

By default, perky ears look like happy ears. We almost always get perky ears out in the back yard when something catches their attention. Squirrels and birds are an automatic perky ear grabber.

Minnie's ears are beautiful. They are a soft blue with a white outline and highlight.

Roxy always looks so attentive when she sports her perky ears.

Joey has always had the face of a puppy. Perky ears are his specialty.

Flocko is just one hunk o' hound dog. He uses his perky ears to get whatever he wants.

Blender, forever elegant with her snow white face always sports her perky ears.
