Yowza towza

By day Talley is a total nutcase.

She's a clown,

and she's a tease.

By nightfall she's a traditional couch potato.

And every minute of every day she's drop dead gorgeous, loving and sweet. Can't imagine the gardens without our Talley Ho Ho Ho.

Baseball, Greyhound Style

Don't worry I got it. Yep, it's coming my way. It's mine, I got it.

Almost, I have it. Fly toy, it's mine!

Phew, I'm safe, I have it now.

And I'm off. Catch me if you can.

Oregon by Greyhound • Flocko Through the Tulips

Although you would never know it today, the weather has finally warmed out and the tulips came out to play.

Lookie here, flowers aren't just for girls you know. Guys like flowers too.

And besides, I brought a girl with me.

Hey Maddie, should we go this way or that way first?

Flocko, over here, what do you think?

Don't I look pretty in pink?

Oh Flocko, there are just miles and miles of tulips. What are we going to do?

Stick with me Maddie, I'll make sure you smell every flower.

Ahhhh, mission accomplished. We've checked out at least 20 bazillion tulips.

Car is that way mom.

Finicky greyhounds part deux

Yo mama, whatcha doin'? That tripe is so yesterday's news. I'm starving to death.

Yes Maddie dahling, I know you're hungry. I slaved over the stove all day to put together Jeff's recipe. It smells like Thanksgiving dinner in here, I hope you like this.

Oh and Maddie, it would be really nice if you ate this for more than three days.

Now that's a bowl of kibble mama! 'Bout time you got it right. Let's see... chicken (fresh), carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans. Wait a minute mom, Jeff said nothing about brown rice. I read the recipe too, ya know.

Five paws up.

Dear Jeff, please go back to the kitchen. I will want my mama to make me something new next week.
Love, Maddie.

Today will be a very good day

Today will be a very good day.

I think I will start by laying in the cool green grass, I'll watch my friends play and play.

I will of course walk around for a long time. I'll sniff the flowers, I'll chew on a few tender shoots of grass. Yes, it will be a very good day.

Wanna know what makes today special?

It's my 13th birthday.

Happy Birthday Pashaman!

Holy crap! This gives a whole new meaning to a big back yard.

Tide is coming in, check out those waves.

I see something down there.

A playful moment.

April's Child

Blender entered our family as a "foster". Sadly, my first attempt at fostering failed gloriously.

Blender was shy, very shy, but she picked up family life rather quickly and has enjoyed it ever since.

Da Funky Duncan Rap

My name is Duncan and I am here to say,
We're celebrating me in a very big way.

I'm turnin' ten and you know where I'll hang,
I'm the newest member of the double-digit gang.

I chased a bunny, and I made some money.
But what I really wanted was a couch and a honey.

So turn your muzzles into the air, I think we've got a roo roo to share.

Happy Birthday Dunka Dawg

Oregon by Greyhound • Silver Falls State Park

The Adventure Silver Falls State Park
Location LAT 44.920648  N  LON -122.6209
Date April 11, 2009
Weather 59°, Cloudy
Distance 23.3  miles

Buddy has always been an outdoorsy kinda guy. He picked Silver Falls State Park for his adventure. He knew there would be a trade-off, lots of water coming over the falls and not much new spring growth, but he was out for the water falls.

Silver Falls likes having the reputation "Trail of Ten Falls", but when you're a canine, it is really just the "Trail of Two and Half Falls."

The Upper North Falls was our first stop. It was an easy 10-minute walk from the parking lot, and the 65 ft. water drop was stunning.

On the trail, Buddy met a hot little number named Haley. It was pretty cool to find another greyhound on the trail. She was even adopted from Oregon Greyhound Adoption

North Falls was on the other side of the parking lot and about one mile in. We could only view it from a distance, dogs weren't allowed on the trail that goes down to the floor of the canyon and behind the falls.

The waterfall is 136 feet and is absolutely spectacular. Don't worry Budman, I'm not gonna fall off of the hill.

Buddy loved the hike and kept up nicely on the trail. You'd never know our boy was 11 1/2 years old.

The next stop was Winter Falls. We couldn't see anything from the dog friendly trails, but the Skunk Cabbage were in full bloom.

Buddy knew there were hot dogs cooking on the other side of the door. No pets allowed in the South Falls Lodge really foiled his plan.

The lodge was built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Next stop was the ever popular South Falls.

Observing from above, Buddy admired the beauty of his last falls of the day.

The South Falls has the longest drop of the waterfalls in the park at 177 ft.
