The Roxhound and the Sunset
Feeling a little jealous last night that Buddy got to go, we decided to take Roxy out and see how white dogs look in the sunset.
So besides the lack of cooperation, Foxy Roxy looks pretty darn hot at sunset.

Testing, testing 1,2,3
So my experimentation with lighting and greyhounds continues. Buddy tried to be a good model.
But after a while of Buddy, here Buddy, Budddddy.
He just stuck his tongue out at me.
And then, I just know this was the perfect, perfect pose... look at that silhouette. But he posed before the flash had time to recycle.
A conspiracy I tell you.
Ahhhh, but Buddy at sunset, what a sight.
Next victim?

Not impressed
I got home tonight and wanted to impress the doggies with everything I learned during the week-end workshop.
I really wanted them to know that the reason I was gone was all about them.
Judging by the looks on their faces,
I don't think they were impressed.

Sorry guys
I know, I know. Please don't be mad at me.
I'm going to another photography seminar and will be gone all week-end.
But your other mother will be home. :o)))

Portrait of a Cow Dog
I love a white and black dog. They are affectionately known as cow dogs.
This is Mickey, my most beautiful cow dog.
And believe me, he knows it.

Not everytime
I guess I have to get used to the fact that not every time will I get precious photographs of my obviously not so perfect pets.
Down on the ground I got with them. But after running every other dog off of the prime cushion, Jillian was less than the cooperative.
In fact, I believe she sent Slinky a memo, reminding her that today was not cooperation day.
This was the icing on the cake. In her excitement to see me on the floor she ran up to me, put her cute little nose right up to my face...
I know, you're thinking a big wet sloppy kiss, but no. She coughed with hurricane force spittle all over my glasses.
End of session. Fathead.

Crystalbella!
Crystal, you scared the crap out of us.
How dare you run up to the patio limping with a huge, hard lump on your ankle? Do you have any clue what thoughts immediately started racing through our minds?
Lucky for us, x-rays detected nothing. Both of your front legs looked identical on x-ray.
We've nearly recovered from the state panic you created.

Yo Ho Flo Ho
Yo ho ho and a bottle Flo. Go figure that yer birfday would be on International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
So glad to see that your peg leg doesn't hold you back, not one little bit. You still chase around like a maniac. :o)))
And Flo, just for the record, a little less sass this next year would be much appreciated. :o)))
Happy 7th birthday Flo Ho!

The Scruffier the Better
A really cool mom would only have cleaned and pressed toys for their dog to play with.
However, according to the wisdom of the Nilly Vanilly Jilly Bean Queen
The scruffier the toy the better because she sure has a way of finding toys in the back yard that we haven't seen for years.

Pissed, just pissed
You've heard the tails of Flocko Ball. An every night event, rain, wind, snow, sleet or hail (fireworks an exception, he hates fireworks).
So about a month ago while Flocko was playing he dislocated his toe. We were lucky, Nurse Ratchet was able to whap it back into place before he realized what she was going to do.
Consequently, there has been no Flocko Ball for awhile. It would be nice for it to heal.
He's ready and we hear about it every night. He barks, stomps, snorts, paces and overall
He's just pissed.

Squirrel Chaser Extraordinaire
Always on the alert, Crystal is our girl. Squirrels are constantly running through our yard and Crystal keeps them in the trees.
She patrols the yard and the minute she suspects rodent play, she's on it.

All right, what's going on
I raised two teenage daughters. I am by nature, suspicious.
I didn't think about it much when I saw these two back by the fence.
Nor did I think very much about it when Jillian accompanied Joey and Slinky back towards the front of the acre.
I was a little curious when they started yapping at each other, wondering what they were chatting about.
But when they started whispering sweet nothings in each others ear, then I became a little suspicious about what happens when I'm not looking.

Ears for Every Toy
There is the "this way and that way" ears.
The "standing at attention" ears.
And my forever favorite, "the windblown ears."

Somedays my job is... Extreme
Last week I spent five days in Las Vegas, held hostage at Mandalay Bay, at a conference for Photoshop and photography.
On Wednesday, I spent the afternoon shooting the Salem, Oregon edition of Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
I had a blast, what can I say.
