Mommy! Daddy! You're Home
The travel part of Holly and Joe's vacation is over. Emma was almost out of her skin with excitement when she saw them.
Rumor on the street, she's not letting them out of her sight. Who will be sleeping on the floor tonight? I'm guessing it won't be Emma.

My Lady of Leisure
Minnie is our last greyhound that can be a universal blood donor. She gave on Sunday. She thinks that she now has special privileges.
She does.

The twin update
Just a quick shout out to Paul and Nancy with a twin update.
These girls are fabulous. If I didn't know better, I'd say they had been with us forever.
And if anyone ever asked me, I'd say if you can adopt littermates, go for it. They are so much fun.

An Amusing Morning
Saturday was Scott Kelby's 3rd Annual Photowalk. We drove up to Portland for a 5 am stroll into the park.
The group of 50 entered the park at 5:30 am.
Immediately it was time to rock 'n' roll.
The carrousel animals were less than thrilled by the early arrival of visitors.
The ferris wheel had yet to shake off it's evening rest.
As the sun rose, the colors of the park came alive.
The midway was quiet, not like I remember from visits of the past when people were everywhere.
The train lacked passengers even though it was ready to leave the station.
The years have gone by in a blur.
But my fond memories of skating and playing at the Oaks Park have not faded.
And yes, we did enjoy our visit this morning.

She's Baaaaack
When Karen and I went on vacation in December, Emma stayed with Holly and Joe. They loved her as much as she loved them and she became best buds with their chocolate lab, Autzen.
She was so happy, that we let her stay.
This week, Holly and Joe are on vacation, so we are dog sitting Emma.
I am happy to report that she is still just as goofy as ever.
Still beautiful, even though she turns 10 on 10/10/10.
And really looking forward to getting back with her lab friend.
Those greyhounds just aren't the same.

Slow News Days
Not much happening in the gardens these days. Even my ever faithful Budman, who tried to stay alert my side had to give in.
First to gravity, when his tongue slid out the side of his mouth.
And then he ever so slowly rolled over on his side to rest in the shade.
Yup, it was a pretty slow news day.

Incoming
Just as we said, every night Flocko has to play ball. Rain, shine, sleet or snow, Flocko is out there with his ball.
He would chase it into the next county if we let him.
But just like mean mommies, we must limit his play time.
And it doesn't matter how much he pouts. He has to quit.

It's time now
The sun was setting and Flocko only had one thing on his mind.
Not cookies, not ear scritches and certainly not pictures.
It's time to Play Ball!

My Bed Buddy
This is my bed buddy Flo.
On a normal night, she stretches out over most of the bed and if I'm really lucky, I will wake up with about six inches of bed left for me on the edge.
This morning she didn't bounce out of bed like she normally does. We knew something was up and it was clear she wasn't feeling well.
We took her into the vet clinic at 8 this morning. Nothing significant on exam except a slightly elevated temp. They x-rayed her from stem to stern and again nothing significant showed up. Tomorrow we will have the blood and urine results back.
She's really feeling punk tonight, here's to hoping it is either the puppy flu or something we can fix with a pill.

You make me laugh
Moose, you make me laugh.
When we go to play, your antics are always entertaining.
And when you are done, you are done. I get it Moose, it's your toy and you don't have to give it back. That is quite a collection of babies you are stashing away.

Ty-grey-asaurus Hound
I have embarked (no pun intended) on a personal journey to take a photo everyday. Somedays it's a challenge to come up with an idea, some days I get really lucky and other days I follow a prompt from a website called the Daily Shoot.
Wednesday's photo was inspired by the Daily Shoot and I couldn't help but post one more time. I guess I was really boring to Skirvee.
Here's the link to the other blog. Itsa greyt day for a photo

A Real Yawner
Skirvee is usually one of our more entertaining hounds.
But on this particular day, he'd grab the toy, run one circle and come back.
No cute little acrobatics.
Just chase, grab
and run one circle.
Yup, he was a real yawner.
