Flight of the Flo
It was rabbit season in the gardens and that is always a joyous occasion.
Some days the stuffy bunnies survive. Other days, well that is a tale for another day.
Flo loves the feel of the wind in her ears and that rabbit was holding her back.
Once that rabbit was history, Flo started flying around the yard.
I hold my breath every time she runs, totally worried about both her broken hock and the hock that isn't broken.
She doesn't seem worried about and she really doesn't care that I'm worried, 'cause once she starts to fly, there is no stopping her.

Another garden romance
We've always called her "Talley the Tease." All of the boys love her, they think she is hot and Flocko is no exception.
On cue, Talley stood up and walked over for Flocko to whisper sweet nothings in her ear.
They look off to the distance together.
And then, his heart is broken and he wanders off alone.

Tails of a shy dog
Nearly seven years ago Joey joined us at Greyhound Gardens. They called him a spook.
He was afraid of everything. Not because he had ever been abused, his trainer truly loved him, but because that was just the way he was wired.
If he were a child, he would be labeled as autistic I'm sure.
Joey made friends with all of the other greyhounds. He was curious about his new humans, but coming closer than ten feet was just to scary.
He adapted to his own routine in his own little world and that is where he lived without variation.
Somedays, it would take us hours just to get him to come inside. But never, ever would he come up to us to get his ears scratched.
And then, two years ago without any warning, he just couldn't stand it anymore. With the safety of a buddy, he came closer. Soon, the closer was all the way up to us and if we carefully reached over his friend, we could scratch his ears.
Now, seven years later, no matter where we are Joey is there. He even flips our forearms to make sure that he is getting his fair share and more of ear scratches. He has a lot of years to catch up on.
Oh Joey, Joey. You are just one hunk o' hound dog. So glad to know that you think the same of us.

Friday Tails
At last, the long awaited week-end has arrived.
Clearly, Miss Talley Ho has mischief on her mind.
What's this? Talley Ho has stolen one Jillian's babies. (Note that babies in plural, no one else is allowed to have babies, just Jillian.)
And Jillian is mortified! How could Talley just take her baby? It's her favorite!
At last, the baby has been taken back from Talley. Tucked in safely by her side, Jillian promises not to leave her babies alone and defenseless again.
